Hi,
I found this types of diodes on the net. What are their differences and which must I choose for rectification/power supply for signal conditioning circuits (preamps, tone cntrl, etc.).
1. Standard Recovery
2. Fast Recovery
3. Schottky
4. Ultrafast
5. Ultrasoft
Thanks,
Jojo

i haven't personally looked at the impulse response on a scope, but Linear Tech has an application note which pans the use of ultra high speed diodes for low noise supplies -- this due to ringing
It's been mentioned before, but the article on snubbing at www.hagtech.com is germain to this disdussion. Hegerman found that with proper snubbing, standard diodes work as well or better than the fancy stuff. A lot cheaper, too. And easier to find at your local supply.
