I have to build an RCA to DIN "Y" interconnect, to be used between a Naim pre and a not-Naim source. I'm going to use shielded twisted pairs. How shall I connect braidings and ground for better results? I would expect to connect them just at one RCA end to avoid ground loops, but please give me your advice.
Both DIN and RCA are unbalanced connections, so you should use coax i.e. shielded single wire. Twisted pairs are for balanced connections.

I missed an important detail: this is going to be a semi-balanced design. In my previous cables it always proved to be beneficial to the sound quality.
What do you mean by semi-balanced? Using the wrong cable is rarely beneficial, but sometimes wrongly perceived as such.
