Difficulty levels for amp building

Question on wire.

I have solid core 20 gauge wire with teflon insulation and I also have 12 and 14 gauge stranded wire from an auto parts store. Would either be suitable for the power supply wiring?

I have shielded wire for audio signal connections.

I think Jim said they are all suitable for the project, not to use 20 AWG only. For connections between the amp boards and the PSU (+, -, Gnd) use 16 AWG. Use the same gauge for the speaker output (+, -) also. The 20 AWG you can use for audio input, RCA to PCBs.

Just a comment.
I bought some silver plated copper wire from apex jr.
He's a great guy but the quality of the wire I purchased was terrible, ie extremely brittle. Ya get what you pay for I suppose.

I would ask him about the quality before buying, specifically how brittle it is ie it breaks very easily if you need to bend it.

He has posts, jacks, capacitors, and other useful stuff.

Also, good wire doesn't go bad, so buy enough for your next 2-3 projects. Or make a lifetime purchase, wire has never gotten cheaper.

I loaded up on all the other stuff when I got the 20 and 22 AWG solid wire when I figured my next project would be a tube amp.

But I haven't ever said the words "Man, I wish I had less wire on hand" so having some extra is never a bad thing.

I have bought quite a bit from him, (Apex Jr) solid and stranded, never a moments problem with any of it. Will be back for more!🙂
