I'm just mainly curious if one chip sounds better than the other. I know that the 3886 will have a bit more power, and I know that the 3875 has better s/n. However I have never heard an amp built with either of these chips. Could those of you that have share your opinions please?

Yes, but only the LM3875T, the non-isolated version. The TF version still has "Full production" status. But remember that there still is the LM3876 which is a LM3875 with the mute option/pin (and thus slightly different internals).despotic931 said:Is it true the 3875 is being discontinued?

I'll be honest, I will be building from a kit as my skill level isn't quite there to build from scratch yet (ok, maybe it's my confidence level that needs improving). Anyways, I haven't seen a kit with a 3876, are there any other differences between the 3875 and the 3876? Also isn't the "TF" the better version of the chip anyways?
