DYS projector lumens
Dear fender4,
an EKD bulb consumes 650w and give you 2000 lumens....
should have been 20000 lumens. I miss one zero.
Thanks, Joseph.

pros and cons of MH OHP
One pro for MH is that it is cool and efficient.
Cons it need an high voltage electronic ignitor --> one more costly component which can break down.
Halogen OHP last almost forever, if you keep replacing those cheap bulb.
How durable are those electronic ignitor circuits?
I am trying to decide on whether to go with the 4000 lumens halogen OHP or the MH ones. Not just the initiate cost, or the cost to replace the bulb, but also its reliability. (So far none of those MH OHP has dual bulb (I think)). That is one of the big cons.
Do u have to wait for 5 minutes for a new MH bulb to warm up?
If I pay more than double for something, I expects only pros, NOT cons. However, MH seems to have so many drawbacks, with only couple of advantages.
Anyone have some different opinion?
Thanks,

ballast for 575MH
Do you need a separate ballast for this 575W Metal Halide lamp? If so where can I buy one? How much does it cost?
Thanks.
