Hey Ohlala,
The recommended maximum upper F is 60 to 80Hz. 80Hz is the THX specification for movies, and I think it works well, but some feel it is too high, and 60 is better.
I believe the better integrated / EQ'd a sub is, the higher you can push it.
Best,
E

Some of this has also changed over time. There was a time when 120 Hz was considered an acceptable upper-cut off.
One "trick" THX liked to do was to use a sealed cabinet for satellites + 2nd order HP filter, for a final 4th order. Combine this with a sub that uses 4th order low pass on subwoofer and your final result is a 4th order Linkwitzh-Riley alignment. Not a bad thing. 🙂
Personally, I would not imagine you could get away wiht using a pure mid+ sub due to the midranges usually being 200Hz and above.

Speaking of diamond, the Accuton D20-6 diamond tweeter is $3,766/pair on Madisound. Whereas the Seas T29D001 diamond tweeter is $6832/pair.
Is the Seas tweeter really that much better than the Accuton?

Sadly the Jantzen ones are no longer available :'(
So I need to be super protective of my babies now.
The seas is listed as a 26mm diaphragm.
The accuton as a 18.9mm.
With what it takes to make one, I recon its that extra 6.1mm that accounts for the price.
Especially if you've checked the price on a diamond mid - OUCH !
