Diamond tip phono needles?

Hey all - We're cleaning out my grandma's estate, and we found this bunch (12) of phono needles which my father is *sure* are diamond tipped. Anyone know if this is possible? They all still have little blue plastic boots on their ends. Are these valuable, or even useful, to anyone?

I know pretty much nothing about phono equipment, but I'm pretty sure info such as brand, markings, or pictures would probably help you get responses.

Do you mean the type to use on an old wind-up gramophone?

You might be able to use them to make a nice scriber for marking lines when doing metalwork.

Hi,
I hope they are diamond tipped. Nowadays that seems to be the only suitable tip still being used.
Thorn, gold plated steel and saphire are considered too soft and due to very early wear can irrevocably damage the track wall.
