Diagnosing a sick speaker

Driver still rattled after removing baffle, tightened screws, no more rattle. Not inspired by the build on these, 4 screw mount pressed steel baskets and big standard internal wiring. Having said that, they sound great. Have a pair of Linn Akurate 242 coming in the house and secured 2 chakra 5 channel amps, going to get the cards and go full active for a change.

many thanks for the help. I would never have gotten this far without it. So, baffle sits slightly proud and is held by spacing dowels. I was thinking of running a thick bead of caulk around the edge to help damp it a little and create a seal. Since the aluminum strip is slightly resonant as well, thought filling with sand might damp it. Pro / cons of the caulk and sand ideas?
