DH rectifier hookup.

Easy question for you all and I just want to make sure this is how it's done.

When using a DH rectifier like a 5Y3GT, the power trannies secondary leads go to pins 4 and 6 with the PT's center tap grounded? Then the 5V filament leads go to pins 2 and 8, with the B+ connection to the first filter cap coming off of pin 8 or the B+ connection coming from the center tap of the 5V winding if it has a center tap (with the two main heater leads still at pin 2 and 8)?

I don't connect the CT to anything.

Using the CT on a DH rectifier will give you 2.5 volts less ripple (hum). Using the CT on a 5AR4 will give you 2.5 volts MORE ripple, and the DC output current will flow through half of the filament winding on the power transformer. So it really comes down to which tube you want to use more often. Either way will work.

Using pin 2 as the DC output on a 5AR4 will give you 5 volts more ripple and is not recommended (all of the DC output current flows through the filament winding on the transformer).
