I am still curious about your package Nordic

I am curious....maybe some plastic bags... maybe have used printer to make stamps ....hummmm... some plastic with bubbles... some styrofoam pieces around......i can imagine some
small card boxes with resistances inside not to bent leads...people was impressed... and they are from the country were the best packages born...injected plastic and nice things came from Beautifull United States of America... and they were impressed...so...you have made so good or better than they use to see there...into their homeland.

Also i know your wife use to help you with that stuff...was you or was your wife that made the excelent package people have commented?

Buaaaaaaaaa!....i could not see that!!!!

Hey Greg.... in Australia you already have one of the best packages i could see

That one with waterproof paper, ligth grey nice envelope... middle sized one (smaller than A4 paper, the printer papper, office papper) with another envelope made using plastic filled with air bubbles... this inside protection envelope is glued into the outside paper card.... the paper card is thick and have waterproof cover...man... that one is almost perfect... you have send me one, and Hugh also sent me extra boards and drivers 4 times.

I think i still have your envelope and Hugh envelope too.... i was so happy that i decided to keep envelope as a remembering of you and Hugh.

Australia is really nice.... one day i will land your place... i hope i will do that one day.

regards,

Carlos

Hi DX, Nordic and folks,

Dear DestroyerX, I am curious about a couple of things that maybe you could answer...while waiting the "package".

Having all those nice sounding amplifiers around, do you actively multi amplify your speakers?
I bet you can build a sweet active crossover with discrete parts 😉

This topic gets hot here from time to time, and I know you have a restless, hyperactive mind that loves intellectual challenges
...apart meeting people...which leads me to the second query:
Were you born with the sun in Gemini? Confess!
😀

With love,
M

PS: and THANKS to both of you for the opportunity of building a "real" amp and possibly learn some practical electronics, which, otherwise would have been very difficult.

I have born July the sevententh.... 1951

Thank you Maxlorenz..... it is positive to help others... if i could i feel that i am cooperating into mankind.... making my part into the system.

They are having fun with me Max..... package for them..for Aussies, is that thing....you know.... the third leg in our language...they are having fun...

ahahahahaha..

no problems.... i will find another word....hummmm..... i will search another word into google.

Big package..small package..pretty package and my lovely Aussie friends are falling down from their chairs laughing because of me....you know.... i like that... i love them so much that i feel good to make them laugh.

Greg Erskine is a dear friend...he can mess with me.

hehe

That makes you a Cancer (like my second daughter), a family man which smiles even with his eyes, and that want that all the globe becomes a big family, with warm feelings for each other...yeah, that agrees with your speech. But I'm sure you must have Gemini influence...send your birth hour if you know it and I'll use some net resource to find out.

I'll confess, I'm a gemini in the truest sense of the word...

That's OK, don't feel guilty :clown:
I see now why you are so fast.
You must give a rest to your neurons from time to time 😉

About the parcel, I'm not worried: we had a customs strike weeks ago and some parcels were delayed.

Sorry for the big OT: I'm dead tired and can't control myself

I believe you! I have three daughters and one little son.
I adore them but sometimes they drive me crazy 😀 (specially a little Scorpio that I have...)

I was totally wrong!
Proving how a bad beginner I am at those things...not a trace of Gemini!
BUT hey! Look what says at the first paragraph of the free chart:

<< Mercury in Leo

You are a person with strong opinions which expresses them in an energetic and sometimes dramatic way. You are an entertaining speaker and will adorn or exaggerate to transmit your message. You have an aptitude for acting and story telling. Even if your setting is only a class room or your dining room, you give a good spectacle.
You have an abundance of creative ideas and won't enjoy any job that would not involve creative participation.
You can be a good politician, spokesman, group leader, director or coach.>>

It is my translation so it can have mistakes, but you take the general idea...

Strange things happen beneath the skies...

YGM

Best regards,
M

Perfect!... thank you Maxlorenz

I am interested in those things.... i love Astrologic things, UFO, Roswell tales stories.... and i am Spiritualist (Alain Kardec)

But this is of topic, and Nordic will complain if i continue with that..so...i will stop here.

Thank you Max...i am still visiting the site you have suggested into direct mail.

Not a good politician.... when i do not like the person i use to say clearly and direct into the guy's face... this is not a good behavior to politician... they never do that.

regards,

Carlos

If a suitable translation is available look for a copy of The human pin code... facinateing and scary accurate... to the point where I'd rather say you are mistaken about your birth date than suspect an erroneouos result.

If i have a few minutes I will do carlos's tommorrow and send it to him as it tends to reveal the good and the bad, our nature and motivations when things go well and when they don't...

It is wonderfully zen as it also just gives these two lists of characteristics, for instance it may say you lie alot, (just an example) your lesson would be to learn to be more honest and this will likely be the key to unlocking other catch 22s in your life...

Because of my dear friend Richard, i could see the stuff

He send me many pictures.

My curiosity was satisfied.

Dear Nordic could not produce pictures because his photo machine is moved by steam power....have to wait hours to reach the correct operating temperature...because of that he did not have produced images...ahahahahha

Not really true... he made one and i have it.

Nordic bougth the digital camera as a weigth to paper...he do not produce pictures.... it is used to avoid the wind to mess with his pappers..ahahahahahah!

regards,

Carlos

Hey there, just getting going on my amp now that the snazzy boards are here.

Check out the attached pic, will be using a 330VA (dual 25AC Secondaries) transformer, 4x 15,000 uF 63V caps and ... what do you think about the heatsinks?

The big one is 8.25 W x 2.5 thick x 5 high (inches)
The smaller one is 8.25W x 2.5 thick x 2.5 high (inches).

To me, the big one looks way to big and the small one seems a little small. But only 2 output transistors per channel it would seem that the small ones would be fine or could I scale this up?

What do you all think?

EDIT- FYI, the case is an old Onkyo TX-2500 Mk. II receiver that I saved from the dump.

If you gonna use heatsinks the way you show..inside the case

I have checked, and heatsinks are perfect to the work they will have.

The bigger one will be good to hold a 100 watts RMS amplifier, continuous power, sinusoidal wave.

The smaller one around 60 watts RMS amplifier, continuous power, sinusoidal wave.

If you put them together, using two aluminium plates fixing them together and distributing the heat (not very well.. have delay and will depend of how big is the aluminium bridge contact area)...maybe 140 watts or a little bit more.

I am talking as output power, not power consumption,

Your amplifier will produce around 40 watts RMS over 8 ohms.... the total power will be 80 watts of audio power.... and your heatsink will be able to hold amplifiers till 140 watts of audio power.... so...you will be happy with them if use 8 or even 4 ohms loads.

I hope you have holes down and up the case.

regards,

Carlos
