Despacio Sound System - Critiques

Having spent the last few days studying up on the Danley designs, it becomes obvious that 'old school' was very much intentional and directivity was not ignored in building this system... rather, they probably view it as a feature. I come back to the enclosed dance floor environment, seven stacks surrounding it. Assuming they got the time alignment close, there's going to be a very real 'curtain-opening' moment as you move towards the center of the space. Hence, it's likely the crowd gathers there - great for dancing, not for critical listening.

And I'll admit that an 11' tall stack with a dozen or so visible speakers and the Mac amps probably looks better on Instagram than two or three boxes with no visible drivers.

Ultimately it's exactly what they wanted, I guess - Klipsch Cornwalls/Corn-scalas on a massive scale.

And now, back down the coax/MEH and FIR/IIR rabbit hole we go! Cheers to everyone for the responses.
