I came across these little buggers at the Visaton website recently:
VOX 80 speaker
From the description it sounds like a fun project, probably serving well to replace the cheap computer speakers at my desktop.
Maybe spice it up with some small, efficient amp modules to create an active version.
Has anyone tried?

OK, here's my opinion...😀 I think those speakers are a lot of effort for a not very good result, I think you could make a better investment of time & money... something like a simple SEAS or SB 2 way using a 4 or 5" mid-bass driver...
Way too complicated for the desktop IMHO. Go with a larger single driver in a <5L vented box, like a Mark Audio A6p for example.
