I'm trying to get new woofers or build 4 TH18's ... I already have a Pair of dual 18 subs but they are bass reflex style subs (at least I think they are)...
I want to know #1 if I can model this box with horn resp... or do I need WinISD?
I want to know if the subwoofers that I want to buy will sound good based on what hornresp says... I already modeled input it into the XOC1 TH design and I like how it looks, but before I go on building a new box, I want to hopefully use the same old boxes and just replace the raw woofers...
Can I do this with HornResp?
I've looked for help but can only find how to model TH Subs..

well those are the ferrite speakers I meant to grab the Neo Speakers but close enough.... EDIT: Fixed Photos
I've never heard of these before, is someone importing these into the states at reasonable prices?

I actually saw someone else say they used them on the TH18 Thread, or were about to use them, that's where I got the company info... They are pretty cheap and model similar to the 18NLW9600 .. if I did my Hornresp correctly... 😕
I tend to shy away from the brands without US distribution as they almost always do not actually measure up to the lofty performance set forth in the spec sheets.

True.... I want to take a risk.. maybe...
This year I "borrowed" for testing somewhere between 8 and 10 subwoofers from one popular car audio brand and not one came even close to what the data sheets implied, 5 or 10 years ago the sheet data was good to go, now it's all "fake news"

So I have a current double 18 subwoofer... No brand, I want to create a model on so I can see how the woofers will respond on that box....
I don't have the specifications, WHD or internals but I do have a tape measure and pen and paper and i'm pretty good at math so I can figure out the volume, and port volume... my question is how do I put that into Hornresp...
OK, so it's just a box with vent that's got the column speaker on top? If so, then find its internal volume [Vb] minus any bracing, drivers, vent volumes [as a solid object], then input it in HR's Vrc field** and the internal depth behind the baffle in the Lrc field. Measure the internal surface [piston] area of the vent [assuming it's just a duct or pipe] and input in the Ap field and its internal length in the Lrc field.
** Note the program is metric, but if you highlight the field and press F6, a popup window appears to allow you to input either in the appropriate inches or feet.

Thanks that's what I was looking for, I couldn't find any videos or info online for HR on how to do this..
You're welcome!
Hmm, just remembered this, which is quite old, but the basics are still the same AFAIK: Hornresp for Dum... hmm... Everyone 😉 - Home Theater Forum and Systems - HomeTheaterShack.com and Google returned quite a few links: hornresp for dummies - Google Search
