Hello, I'm very new at both playing bass and building speakers but I figure building a new cab would be a good summer project. I am trying to design a cabinet that will work well with a ~300W amp. I'm currently using the Unibox spreadsheet to test some things out and I've come up with a few questions that I can't find answers to.
Firstly, I am assuming that a design is automatically no good if it exceeds xmax above 20Hz or so, but what wattage should I be using to calculate it? The RMS wattage of the speaker, the max wattage, the wattage of the amp, max wattage of the amp?
Secondly, if I decide to go with two speakers, would each of them be receiving half the watts of the amp no matter if they were wired in series or parallel?
Finally, how do tweeters and crossovers factor into determining power requirements and such.
Thanks in advance. Hopefully i'm not going about this completely bass ackwards and have overlooked some more important detail.
