Hi, good tip 🙂
You need a painting car cabine for a perfect finish ? (free of dust?) : pencil or air brush gun ?

These dry out in about 5 minutes (to the touch) and can be sanded in 30-35min. They`re industrial, behave differently from what you have in the local DIY store and are a thousand times better. The primers are very easy to sand, I have used several fo them so far and will use in a few days another type which is polyester based. That being said, you don`t need a car spray chamber as the chance of particles getting trapped is very low and they`re easy to remove. If your wife is not home, you can use the bathroom 😀 wet and dust free. Most of their coatings are also thixotropic - they are very unlikely to flow when applied to a vertical wall.
Eldam, for a perfect finish you don`t need a special chamber - dust particles (even with alkyde based coatings) would be on the top of the coating, when dried just use 1000-1500 grit sanding paper moving it in one direction to remove them, a dozen sweeps with light pressure is enough. Then you put the next coat and repeat. The coatings would also bond better because of the sanding. When you have like 6-7 coatings (if using standard DIY-type finish) you can sand with 220 grit until well leveled and then continue to apply coatings (as many as you want). The last one has to be sanded with something like 1500 grit and then polished with car polish, number 2 does the job. This process eliminates the possibility of paticles in the coating.

Ok, I spoke to the ICA importer today.
To make the piano finish product, you have to buy two different products called POL10 and POL13. They have to be mixed, usually 70/30 or 60/40 and then a catalyst to be added. For the final coat the addition of parafine is advised.
The cost of these in Bulgaria is (per litre):
EUR7.85 for POL10
EUR7.06 for POL13
EUR16.25 for the catalyst
EUR9.52 for the parafine
They said that after a few coatings it produces very deep piano finish which is also very hard. I`m sure you`d have them in Croatia, if not - Bulgaria is not far and postage won`t brake the bank 🙂
Nice post Mario, thanks! 🙂
