Hi,
What is the deal with these tower-like floor-standing amps?
Is it only a matter of design or function, I mean are they too heave to be put on shelves or are there any other special advantges?
As they are pretty cool I'm thinking of buiding two monoblocks
( they always come in monoblock versions, don't they?).
This approach seems good also because you can fit alot of power toroids and caps in them.
Best Regards,
Christian

I'm no sure to understand correctly the question... But I can explain that tower design is a way to improve cooling of the heat sinks, by effect of the draught (like in a chimney).

Actually, I believe most extrusions' effectiveness must be derated as height increases.
Looks like someone has read Thermalloy's app notes.........
