That's also the way I think DIY pcbs should be done.

What I do on prototype pcbs is cover the copper with translucid tape, that will accept drawing over it.

Then design the rectangles forming the circuit over the tape.

Then use a thin blade to cut away the lines (clear on your drawing).

Then remove exposed copper with acid.

Then remove tape and polish with washing sponge.

Then use protection varnish.

It's very easy for gainclone projects and better than P2P wiring.

So far I found out:

Paper type is relatively irrelevant as long as use print nice black and fuse it good.

Toner HOLDS, you cant scrape it with your hand as long as it fused good.

This method better siuts projects with loose part placement, coz if you have alot copper space compared to that you'll etch, paper fibers will tent to clog those in-betweeen-traces-space and will not etch.

As for the first time, I'm satisfied.

Soldered boards commin in an hour.
