Design for overdriven output stage

Hi there!

I am currently searching for a design that would be great for a typical overdriven blues sound. This means I would rather go for a clean preamp and a saturated output stage. Single ended seems to be the best choice as it saturates easier (and I dont need more than 15W).

The Valve Wizard website speaks about different valves for this end:
The output power from a SE pentode stage will be roughly half the anode dissipation of the valve, so we'll need a valve capable of 20W or more. There is actually a wide range of valves that fit the bill, but the most common for guitar use are the EL34 (25W), 6L6GC (30W), or a pair of parallel EL84s (24W). We can disregard 'big bottle' valves such as the 6550, KT66, KT88 and KT90, as they will easily deliver more power than we want

Seems also that 6V6 would be the a tube of choice for bluesy sound...

I just expext some feedback about this design choice and maybe about the tube choice 🙂

Thanks in advance
