Re: Hi!
Hi
Can you please advise on some reading ?
I need to know a lot about bias before starting.
Where could appear the oscilations ?

You mean the cases are cracking open?RCruz said:3 minutes after turn on... all the output trans blow (they open like a broken egg schell).

They are on the 2 heatsinks on the amp board. Should be 2SC2336A/2SA1006A. Sorry to say but it sounds like your in over your head. Can you please idebtify the drivers for me ? I am not very experienced in power amps.

I was using 2SA1302 Toshiba and C3281-0 for the output... Can this be the source of the problem ?
I am just starting to understand the schematics.... Soon I will be able to start rebuilding. You don´t know me yet... but I am really perceverant.
Of course I will need your precious time and help. 😀

Output Transistors ??

Should I stick to the stock ones ?

The original complimentary pairs that I mentioned in a previous post are readily available so YES I'd stick to them. I'd have to check the data sheets to see about those Toshiba trannies but get the Sankens anyway.
The great problem is : are near impossible to obtain genuines 2sc3281/A1302. yours probably is fake.
try more atual 2sc5200 and 2sa1943. is a better chance to not be fakes.

I just found four pairs of 2SC3856/2SA1492. The OEM mark lokks like this S_K ... can these be authentic ?
Did you mean that 2sc5200 and 2sa1943 are better replacements than the 2SC3856/2SA1492 I´v got ?

Ricardo,
If you have a functional POA6600, compare the original transistors with your new Sankens, using a magnifying glass. if terminals, texture of body, marking ink or the presence/ausence of letters inside holes is markedly different, and, if the metallic side is to much shinning, possibly you have fakes.
open one of this with a hammer and see the silicon. original ones have about 5 x 5mm chip and half of this remain adered in the epoxi side.
if you have a 2 mm chip and some white silicone above this, that is really a fake.

I can not do it... I only have four... the last four ones
Yes there are problems with fakes but some people worry to much. the Sankens I'm willing to bet are fine.

Just rigged the board using a 200 ohm resistor in place of the posistor and the amp went out of protection.... now I measured voltage in points TP and is zero maybe because i do not have the outputs soldered yet..??
The voltaes in IC 501 are a little below spec but in the correct range
To place the output transistors should i use rubber isolators with or without thermal compound ?

Diode Zener HZ5C1
Hi
I measured the following values at the cathode of D512 (3.19v)
ant at the anode of D513 (-3.30) both situated in the line linking the bases of the pre drivers in the POA6600A.
In the working amp I measured +-1.5v (I believe because the stock zeners are HZ5C1 with Vr = 1.5).
At the base of D512 I have -0.07v instead of zero.
Can these values be dangerous when I solder the output transistors on ?
Are there any alternatives to these HZ5C1 ? I can not find any and the alternatives I got have Vr=1 or Vr=2.
Best Regards
Ricardo

I would be happy to send a .pdf file of the Denon POA 3000Z service manual to anyone one since I have 3 (stupid me) that were advertized as for the POA 3000 (they would not refund my payments). I have been looking for a service manual (or even just the schematic) for the Denon POA 3000 (not the Z model or the RG model, which are entirely different internally) for over a year. I have tried Denon several times and think they even checked with the orginal manufacture in Japan. If anyone has access to the Denon archieve service CD (?) might be in there. Would be willing to pay reasonable amount for expenses, etc.
thanks larry

I have having great difficulty with this amp. I am only slightly experienced in electronics. I replaced all npn/pnp power transistors, but I still have the L and R lights on meaning something is wrong. And definitely no sound. Any help would be appreciated. I can upload the schematics.
I basically need to have the L and R lights in front go out so I can get some sound out of the channels. thanks
My attachment seems to be too large to fit here.

P12 and 13 are the schematics.
please help.

Dear Member of DIY
I'm not really a DIY guy but I've just brought a pair of POA6600A and found out one amp has a problem. When I connected the whole system together one speaker's driver is moving and create a noise during playback. I sent it to the repair shop but they keep asking for a service manual. If some of you could send the full service manual to me it will be very much appreciated.
