Denon PMA-510AE remote control and input selector problem

I got small issue with my Denon pma 510 are.
After turning on you are able to change inputs for short time. Later on switch no response at all.
Remote control stopped working as well.
After replacing ir sensor, remote control works fine, and input selector switch as well.
But after hour or so, IR sensor diode blown again and everything stops working again.
Any advice? Please don't write about selector switch cleaning because it is not the case, switch it's brand new, old one was wobbly.

The only thing that could 'blow' the IR sensor module is an overvolts condition on the 5 volt rail (which is very unlikely).

Most IR faults are down to the handset and not the receiver. Check the remote is transmitting by looking at it through a camera/phone and check its pulsing bright 'light'.

If you still think there is a problem with the receiver then check its supply and use a scope to look at the output.

That's what I was thinking, remote control it's ok. I have even buy new one. It's definitely IR sensor. 5v rail have 5.2v maybe I can put bigger resistor or 5v zener to prevent it from spike voltage? Problem could lying somewhere in standby circuit. Both of standby and main rail provide 5v voltage for IR sensor, but depends on circumstances when it is on standby mode it's power by standby transformer, when it's switched on (working mode) it's power from main power rail. But for short moment it's power by both of transformers in same time.

I think next step is to look at the output of the receiver under fault conditions when the RC is not working and make sure there really is no output. In all the years of working on stuff I can count on one hand the number of faulty receivers and never ever had a repeat failure.

I really do suspect something else is going on here. If the 5 volt rail was killing the receiver then other stuff would be failing as well. You could always look at the 5 v reg and check for dries and even replace the reg just in case there is an issue but I suspect not really.
