Just bumped into this from a slashdot posting:

http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AKDL1-Dedicated-Link-Cable/dp/B000I1X6PM
Is this thing really just an ethernet cable for $500? What could possibly make this worth $500?

Hilarious. What I always wonder about with these products is what you actually get. Did they bother making a pointlessly 'high quality' cable with OFC, silver, teflon and all that, or do they just wrap a normal (and perfectly adequate) cable in a fancy nylon weave with sporty looking connectors?
Any volunteers to spend the $500.99 to cut one open and have a look?

I thought many of the bogus reviews on this cable were beyond hilarious.. Spent some serious time reading them. More seriously though I can't imagine why Amazon would carry this cable, that anyone would even consider buying this boggles the mind..
I make my own cables and in my limited experience some of my cables interact in a more synergistic manner with some of my components than others. Still this smacks of snake oil....
