This older broadcast type player has trouble reading 75% of my discs.
It will either initially read the disc, or it will fail/error.
What adjustments can I preform ?
Understand that I am not too familiar with the insides of CD players, but I have an analog scope + other test gear....and my friend has some CD alignment discs.
He also may have some info on the location of the alignment pots...maybe not though.

Alright, so this seems to be a common problem/question, here in this forum.
