Between 9-13 cu for the DL103.
From 9 to 13 there is a great difference of cu.

Well cartridges vary somewhat between individual items. But it does not change the point here 10-12 g arms give good results in terms of ideal fres.

To 13. Still does not change the point. There are numerous posts out there measuring good results wirh 10-12 g arms.
Arm Of my Pioneer is 15.6g eff. mass. 103r sounded fine. Nuded the cartridge, stuck it into an aluminum holder which added weight. Wrapped lead tape to the end of the tonearm weight and it came alive. All that may have bumped up eff. mass to near 20g or thereabouts. Loaded @ 168ohm

Real world DL103 cartridge needs heavy arm mass to give the best SQ, I own one with a medium mass arm 11gr and sounded a lot better with the same modified arm to have a total mass of 24 gr. With 11gr arm mass sounded weak bass and roll of the highs, believe me the real beast DL103 become when used with heavy mass arms.

I've read these heavy arm claimed benefits, but I've never seen anyone backing this up with measurements. If bass is weak with a 10 g arm it must be possible to measure. John Elisons measurements with his SME V does not indicate any loss of bass and certainly no loss in the highs.

Do you have any DL103?
No, but I've listened to the DL103 a couple of times. But that is irrelevant for the discussion.
It's irrelevant from your point of view, for my point of view is irrelevant that you listened a couple of times the cartridge and want to have the reason without experience and only give us information others posted in the net. Try with a real cartridge, listen yourself, make your own measurements & let us know if you want?

You have asked a lot of questions and I've answered them. You still have not answered my question I gave regarding the resonance frequency with the heavy arm and DL103. Let's start there for a change.
BTW, I've tested with medium and low mass arms with a couple of cartridges, and there is no difference in bass. This was tested using blind testing and by measurements.
I have both the 103 and 103R they work well in a 3009 II non improved. I like them better with heavier headshell and some damping material between cart and headshell on that same arm. I could not venture a guess as to effective mass as I just did it by ear and verified that the resonance was in the right range by test record. I also like them both better with transformer loading... again done by ear using a variable gain/load preamp so could not say let alone prove why.
