Denon DCD 2560 skips when gently hit

My denon 2560 CD player skips when I GENTLY hit the case. Otherwise, it works flawlessly.

I think the suspension is tired, and would like to put a new one. Does anyone know how to remove the tray and mechanics ?

I'm willing to pay for a service manual, but I don't have a credit card, and all I found was Paypal only. 🙁

any help greatly appreciated.

This otherwise beautifully built generation of Denon players are rather notorious for having very ineffective suspensions. However, you can improve the performance some. You need to access the bottom side of the mech, then you can remove one spring-holder screw & cup washer at a time(so you don't get the springs out of order) and clean out all of the hardened rubber debris from the unnecessary centering grommets. Once all the rubber is out, just re-assemble without. Those centering grommets were just barely beneficial for rough shipping trips, and of no use at all in practice.

To flip the mech over, open the tray, pop off the cosmetic front of tray(just pull out a little in the middle & slide up), close tray, then remove the five or six, maybe seven, #2 philips black screws that fasten the mech chassis to the main chassis, then flip the mech over to the right. You can unplug all the cables from it to free it if you want to, but it is not at all necessary.
