I was hoping you saw the reply quickly so no one else would buy it before you. That's an absolute steal for that scope. I can't believe he couldn't sell it for 30 and had to reduce it to 25.
Hi Perry so it appears the other scope never materialised so I've picked up this one from a retired engineer, cam with case and probes.

Not sure about the first one as the seller has disappeared after taking payment, the Hameg scope is fully working
From the photo, it doesn't appear to be working.
Set both coupling switches to ground.
Try adjusting the focus.
Have you tried anything else to try to get a sweeping trace?

OK. I've seen streaks similar to what appeared to be on the screen when scopes had bad capacitors.
