Denon AVR-X4500H

Ugh, this is killing me.

2560 but no P rank on octoparts
1647 still no P rank on octoparts

Waiting weeks to have them be in at Encompass for 5 times the price or using no rank?

There is one possibly on eBay, right font and font size. Also, Digikey sent me "Y".

How much does this spec matter?

It will slightly affect distortion figures. A higher open loop gain of any amp (which higher gain transistors will give) means there is more scope for distortion reduction when the feedback loop is closed. We are talking very tiny amounts.

I would not expect different hFE ranks to affect the basic operation of the amp at all.

what type of input tube?

Well, got everything mounted and soldered, put it back in and the main fuse blows, not the two ceramic transistors on the power supply board.

I guess I'm going component hunting for something overvolting or not having proper capacitance.

Any other ideas, please let me know

The honest answer is that I think this is outside your abilities. It is a very complex amp and it is difficult to work on. It uses an SPS power supply which limits your ability to power it up in a safe state such as by using DBT.

You have done your best with it 🙂 but it needs more involved diagnostics.

If you short the vbe generator out then the output transistors can not draw current together and so they should not fail. That is the first basic step to take.
