Hi!
First post here and hopefully someone here recognizes this problem or has seen something similar...
I have a Denon AVR-1905 5.1 receiver that is behaving badly, i.e. it does not work at all...
After returning home from vacation (5 days away) the unit refuses to start. Before leaving it worked perfect and during my absence it was disconnected from the mains via an extension cable with a power switch (all my video/audio-equipment is connected to the same extension cable and all were shut off via the extension cable switch).
I removed the unit from the mains and opened the cover thinking it was a fuse or something similar. After changing the fuse on the power inlet (3.15A/250 V glass fuse) the unit started and behaved normally! But... after closing the cover the unit is once again dead - i.e. no light/display - nothing.
So, I open it again thinking it's maybe a broken connection or similar but I havn't found any broken solder joints at all...
I can measure AC power over the front switch on the unit (in the "OFF" position") until the switch is turned "ON" - then the AC level over the switch is 0 Volts (seems OK since then the resistance is 0)?
But after that nothing... I have no idea how to test any more components or even where to start... Also, it seems the front LED must be powered/controlled by the CPU board so a lot of boards must be connected to the power board for any indication of function which makes it very hard to look at/wiggle any soldering points during in a powered state in order to find a faulty joint...
Any ideas/schematics/manuals that might help me??
Thanks,
Johan
