Denon Av receiver

I have Denon AVR-X500 receiver it works well with one exception the response to the remote control seems to take ages ! If I try to alter the volume for example it can take 10 -15 seconds to respond . Is this a known issui with these ?

Problem sorted receiver not deaf ! The remote is mute I have used another remote with good results
I suppose a new remote will be good
