Anyone know what laser transport mechanism a denon DVD-5910 is. I would like to cross reference it to another brand that would be less expensive. I don't need the whole CD/DVD rom drive just the laser & motor assembly. Thanks in advance
Yes, I just ordered one. It had looked like a sony mech but I couldn't find any sony markings on it so I guess it was something else. Figured it was better to pay a little extra so I could sell this unit while it's still tax season.
Hi,
My DVD-5910 is not playing CD's and apparently need to replace the laser assembly. Can you tell me a part number for the laser mechanism and the price you paid? Thanks much!!!

The laser block is Hitachi HOP1200S (replace the existing HOP1200N or R that you might have). Cost on eBay is around 15$.
The traverse mechanism will cost about 80-100$ on different places... A source for it. It is not necessary to be replaced as a whole but it is easier job.

Hi,
Appreciate the info, just ordered one! Will be great to listen to CD's again on the Denon instead of a Sony Blu-Ray!!!

Denon DCD 1650AE/2000AE laser pickup
Hi Guys,
My CD/SACD player does not want to read 50% of the CDs I have.
From the service manual I found the part number 9KA2A506B.
Apparently I found that DVD 5910 uses the same one.
I would greatly appreciate it if somebody could confirm I can use the same
Hitachi HOP 1200 for $10-20 instead of byuing whole assembly (called traverse mech) for $ 150.Any other sources /references are much appreciated
Thank you,
Eugene

I ordered the exact part( whole pickup assembly with motor & laser) the first time & it came with a newer version pickup. It still has to be adjusted slightly even though it was supposed to be adjusted already from the factory. I did order a bare pickup for a 3910 later on & it required much more adjustment. If I were to buy one I would go with the newer s series since adjustments are on top & you don't have to take the pickup out just to turn the pot. Hope this helps. Donald
