One of the power amplifiers from my Tower Speaker Definitive Technology BP 7006 is making trouble. There is a random “popping sound” that occurs during normal operation and caused by the build in subwoofer amplifier.
It happens randomly and when the subwoofer level control is set at approximately 12 o’clock or higher. After a while, the random “popping sound” turns to a very loud “hum” coming from the woofer.
I read that the common issue is bad capacitors in the power supply.
Has anyone experienced the same problem with a power amp?
How did you fix it?
Thanks for inputs

It could be due to vibration damaging a solder joint or PCB trace too, in such a loud environment. Careful visual inspection might find something.
