Erm Why ?? should I be foolish enough to try a single rail supply, let alone an SMPS.Bare said: What Thump ? I have a wee 1875 DIY amp built exactly to the Data sheet circuit. Toroid dual rail PS, also a diy cobble up..
No turn on thump whatsoever. Am I missing something ?
Good that you have the dual rail amp working. Now try the the single supply version. Be ready for the surprise.
Splurge ! the Big $ on a torroid 🤣 and leave all worries /bodges in the rear view mirror.
Not as if an 1875 is an inexpensive build . Not if using genuine/ decent parts. Cheaping out on the PS is counterproductive IMO.
That said it's a 'good' amp. But also absolutely not in the Firstwatt league.
I tend to disagree, as the 47Labs Gainclone sound great, too. I listened to them on Avantgarde Duo speakers, stunning. But also absolutely not in the Firstwatt league
Hayk made LtSpice of bridged Lm1875 chips in current drive mode.

Is anyone interested to make and maybe test a functioning schematic and amp?
Would like it because it works on single supply. How much volts should the smps have?

What is the simple meaning of definitive? What's definitive about it?
Something definitive is complete and final. A definitive example is the perfect example. A definitive answer is usually a strong yes or no. A definitive biography contains everything we'll ever need to know about someone
.......
Perhaps it should be comprehensive (complete; including all or nearly all elements or aspects of something.) or ultimate. Since everything here is a work in progress.
It looks like its been done as kit for a while. I have not tried this schematics though.Have you checked the open loop gain frequency response ?
Or distortion at 1kHz compared to say 10kHz ?
Cheers,
Patrick

As he says in the text, the schematic by itself (without parts values) isn't quite enough to make a working composite amp, but it does look neat. I like the price of his completed pcb:
