If men are from Mars, and women from Venus.. where do cats come from?*
*the answer must be the unbridled greed of Pluto.

I read in an article once that the most miserable people are those in their 40's, which seems odd given they're still young enough to not be "old", but old enough to have some wisdom.
Forgetting isn't the problem, remembering is
Or rather, remembering that you have forgotten
Or rather, not remembering what it is that you have forgotten

Leonard Cohen NEEDS to forget. I need to forget why I entered. This a rather Buddhist contraption attempting work here.
The happiest are the young and old... because one is too dumb and the other.. too old to care!

My mother is very old, she keeps telling me (because she forgets), that she has two favourite sayings :
1) Do it now (because she forgets)
2) Does it really matter?

What I find interesting about all this, does any of it really matter?
Take laureate Bob Dylan, a guy well known for positing an existential issue or two. "and is our purpose not, the same on this Earth, to love and follow His direction?".
I love Bob Dylan, even more the Cohen, but His direction? How can I know who I am if I'm following His direction?
but I'm digressing now.
If nothing matters, does anything matter?

No need to waste time pondering these issues...in the blink of a cosmic eye you'll be gone and forgotten.
^ of course, that's the whole point....but what's the question?
Well, if you knew... the mice would have to have to extract your brain... diced...
Old people are making all the decisions that aren't going to affect them ultimately. They don't like change, they want things to be like the good 'ol days, trouble is they've forgotten how bad they were.
the problem with young people is they're dumb and think they have a right to make he world into what they want. Old people own everything.
Some years ago I found it more efficient to start this routine: always open the fridge and stare into it when going to the kitchen, it is most likely something inside there that was the purpose of going to that location.
It really does help, even if the purpose of going to the kitchen was something else entirely.
"Shuffle shuffle shuffle, squeak, hmmmm... Oh right! A sharp knife and one of those big tweezers for the barbeque."
Edit.
But if the item I was supposed to find has been delegated to a different shelf than last time, for reasons completely unknown to me, it will be surrounded by a field of invisibility, I get caught in an endless search until eventually giving up. So it does not always work.
Edit2:
If anyone knows a trick to disable the invisibility field around the things that are on the wrong shelf, please teach me!
For some reason my wifefinds it very amusing.
