And many US solar system installs are a great source of interference.
Without electricity, there would be no interference.
This is a first world problem.
Here in Wisconsin we turn the sun off every night, makes it easier to sleep.
I'm thinking @Speedskater is referring to the inverter that's part of a solar panel install.
My house is from 1912 but with wiring updated probably sometime in the 1980s or 1990s. Modern Romex/Lumex/NMD-90 wire with ground, etc. I haven't bothered with a separate circuit for the stereo. I did run a separate 120/240 V, 20 A circuit to my lab, though. 🙂
If your house still has knob-and-tube wiring, definitely rid yourself of that. The wiring. Not the house... I'm surprised you can even still get insurance on a place with K&T wiring.
