I thought I'd had a question about an item I found brand new unnopened from the company Furutech Audiorevive. Model RE-9.
The only bits of info is that is grounding vooder powers can, just by the flick of a switch and truning a pots(which is overall well built and most definately appeaking the most obsessive compulsive of us...

By reading some less credible reviews from somelower end Magazine's ( for the most part as well as for most of their products at the exceptions of their connectors and adapter) I have been cracking open my Dad's old B&O system as well as his tv and VHS all coming from the same manufacturer expect from his Bose 901, first serie with the adequat eq.
That was about 25 years ago and now am 30. It doesn't give the creds of an electrial engineer nor nor I could calculate a room resonance due the textreme complexity of the matter. Anyways, I can blow a flew bells and whistles and can fix about anything( provind proper schematics or hours under the lights figuring them out.
This place is brimming audio magalomania and greatness oozes out of most of the threads.. Apart the oil snake, which by the way, living in Taiwan, I get to drink his bladder along their version of a hardcore moonshine, maybe i should try spitting on cd once.. First I gotta find me some New Kids on the Blocks or some..
My intro being done, I had hooked up today my Thiel CS.5 (the most affordable of them but a really good product at this stage of my apprenticeship.. (I'll eventually end up an Obiwan of the luscious most Burlesque Grand speakerart by age 70)in my wettest dream that is..
Coming to the point, What the Heck does a furutech audio revive RE-9 do..The grounding is supposed to be life changing, wellMy thiel were powere by an Pionner 9000 quad and I had some Paradigm studio 220 on another try to see wether THX or quad would make a difference..
To be extrimely polite, It did Ja@@****. Wasn't that box supposed to bring the best musician right nest to me or far away so that even my had woken the next day still amazed by its voodoo power? If there is a service manual, i'd love it.. If some of you own it, be kind to tell what could have gone wrong. (It's isnt a knockoff eventhough I work in Taiwan,all those are made and bought either in Shenzen or hong-kong and I stay away from fake goods as I'd end up walking in those places and probably start by being a smartass, making their salesman look like an amateur with the easiest electronical jargon there is and off course, being drunk and pissed off, they'd throw me out.. So I stick to the real shops where the staff can actually sound like a doctor talking to buch of a French Taiwanese hillbillies... I seriously need some info on how to use it and what are those 2 jacks are the front are for.. I have the japanese stickers stuck on the item itself, It's a quick naphta wife away by to do it in the first place...
Sorry for dragging on and not have mentioned a single db meter or s/n value... I am still and will always be learning this art. But I got shocked only once, actually twice when I was experimenting injecting water with via needle into a supposedly 110 waterproof line breaker...
Remeber if you come across Furutech Audio Revive which have seemed to merge at a time but may have split again (I dont qualify to judge).
Ok, I used a half way decent system today and wasn't blown away nor got blow for its voodoo charms on the wife...
I am in no attacking this product credibilty, and off course, they have a 400% margin which is fine, land is pricey in japan so every price is exhorbitant when buying new...But all those people buying top of the range equipment are now being chased by loan sharks so it seels for so cheap on their yahoo auction...I picked up some cabasse which were 50 us instead of 5000.. they were in mint condition to and have gone back to (my parent's listening room)their country of manufacturing(for cutting the holes and to calculate best redition and such)but everything else is touched by a French chick(due to lady fingers being generally smaller) right before the big french cheese who allows them to break in for a week gradually raising output level for a week before even considering listening to them on his own private Showroom/Lab/potential awesome salvage yard opportunity..
PS: My policy as for now, being a young father and having just bought a house last year, is to be greedy, fix when I can, ask when I can't and go to the salvage joints everyday before work... They have seen so many times, weather being of no importance digging through their piles of crap than now, they save me the goodies...but they even know the best smaller manufacturers. the real brains behind the soothing most direct musical redention and we can't blame them...,they only know onkyo, and all only the Nike of the Audio...They also save me save old camers if anyone is interested( I am not looking at making a buck at all, one should pay for import and packaging(done better myself), and I'd be glad to give away... Off couse, if one had some half decent caps, trans, pots...anything.... I aslo have too many of those Eepc's and tinybutts laptops which I never use, those could go for maybe speakers without baffle or....

I'll send first on your import payment and we'll communicate throughout the whole process or whichever...I just got to get rid of stuff as my DIY sanctuary is going to raped of its glory, but for a good cause, making my kid the playroom she diserves... She got Straight A's, and an A-....

It's because there's an amazing lack of interest in ready-built stuff on a DIY forum. 😀 To tell the truth, a quick google turned up almost nothing on the existence of an "RE-9" from Furutech. Given the rest of what they sell, I'd guess that what it does is enrich Furutech without actually damaging your sound system.

Sorry for the late reply, the week-end is Daddy mode (I managed to finish an old projects, a reverb I was putting together from three salvaged ones).. It look very prehistorical but it sounds like it supposed to..
About The RE-9 that I found at my friend junkyard.. I just give up on it... If anyone has interest in it, you can have it...You pay the postage of course... but other than that, it's a freebie for the taking..The articles I read about it didn't seem to legit, they all sounded like it was the best thing after electricity, life and the best of best of any soldering station... To cut the story short.. Too good to be true (unless off course my ears aren't refined enough which may well be)
I am working on so many things but I am starting to realize that all the good expertise and friendliness here. I may as well stop fixing and start focusing on making what I really want and need.. I won't use the biggest names in the game but I'll do my best to be creative and accurate to the sound I like.... (like a nice warm Fisher tube, or the old McIntosh).. Call me stupid but I just dont like the new stuff, too many led's, moving things.... I like pure old sound, discrete eastethic and life-long quality... My pioneer 9000 qx still works like new, one of the button for the speakers set 2B is a bit sticky and I am missing the wooden casing for it( I don't mind that, I love seeing how it was built)... Otherwise, the problem I had with my rega elex is solved...Cracked it open while the wifey and kid when out and there it was, a sad little blown fuse. I replace it with a 20A slow burning(no brand name, just from what I had in stock)... It fired up but I didnt have to hook it up to some decent speakers due to the fun bashing ladies being back... I need to figure by myself how to add pix to my posts...

If you enjoy the sound of "tube" amps there are DIY designs that around that are very good to build. The electrical voltages involved with tube amplifiers are very high and can be dangerous so I must ask you how familiar you are with high voltage electronics. I would not want to suggest something to you only to find out that you turned yourself into a piece of something that resembles the ashes from a fire. I understand from reading your earlier post that you have been playing around and fixing things since you were a kid but do you have any knowledge about tube circuits?
In regards to reading about audio devices that are "magic" - well you have already said that you can spit snake oil as well as anyone - and there is sometimes a lot of snake oil about these things. Some devices work - some don't - and some are what the listener wants to hear. Nothing new with that.

But before I go further and ask you for a good circuit recommendation, let me do a little homework on how precisely tubes amplifiers function.. I I need to educate myself a tiny tad so to better understand any suggestions you'd have.

Well - here is some printed material - in English though. Reading material before starting helps me understand things - but only to a certain level - and then it is time to apply what I have learned. But - taking little steps 1st - like a young child learning how to walk. Be prepared to stumble and fall a few times. Do not worry or be ashamed of taking a bit of a tumble while you are learning - I can promise you that this will happen. Taking a fall has - and will happen again - to all of us. When a fall happens stop and think about the how and the why of it and regard it as part of the learning process.
Begin with an easy project. It is a long journey to learn these things - enjoy your journey!!! There are many places to see and people to meet!!! 😉

BTW - your friend is correct about the silver wire. Use it in the audio signal paths - especially on the inputs. Don't wasted it on things like power supplies - not needed there - and would be a waste of a valuable resource.

With a view to educating yourself about tube audio IMHO there are few books better than Morgan Jones "Valve Amplifiers 3rd Edition" and "Building Valve Amplifiers" - both will give you a lot of solid material in a charming and entertaining set of books. Quite an enjoyable read..
There are many books to read - I just posted that particular one because it is available on line - sooooooo not to much money involved to read.... 😉
Thank you for you the link and the book recommendations guys. I haven't the chance to reply earlier as my kid and I went on a trip.. Back to tube education. The Spangenberg e-book is fantastic. I'll go to the bookstore after to try finding it as well as Kevinkr's recommendations.
As for building my first amp, I still don't have a clue on how to choose. All I know is that I'd like it to drive my Thiel CS.5(their smallest floorstanding) with ease. I still have a lot to learn before choosing by myself so any recommendations would be great.
