Dead pixels - domino effect??

I read the thread on dead pixels and what causes them, but it didn't discuss the possibility of a 'domino' effect. I have a vertical line of dead pixels on the bottom half of my LCD panel...will this problem 'spread'? Will more die-out until eventually it's so bad I'll have to use it as a placemat?

I realy dont think thats how it works, their dead or not. not dieing or going to die.

That sounds to me like you broke a connection on a ribbon cable. What sort of lcd are you using?
