i've got an nad 304 amp, just the amp (can't find the remote) thats dead- won't power on. looks to me like the transformer is dead (multimeter can't get any voltage anywhere bar the power switch.)
offer?
offer?
Probably the termal fuse in the transformer that`s blown.
Happens quite often on these amps...
You can put a fuse across it, I think it is the black and the white wire on the little pcb by the transformer to get it working again.
I have done this several times, but cant remember 100% the color of the wire but you can measure it.
Of course the termal fuse is now bypassed and safety goes down the hill;-))

Hi Xicarius,
Unplug your unit and measure resistance across the primary wires. If you have continuity there, measure each leg to the plug end. If you get continuity between the ends at the plug, your problem is else where.
Joining P16 to P14 will bypass the thermal fuse, but you should replace it with a similar type if you can. Look for the type used in coffee makers and so forth.

Interesting suggestions- which I'll have to look into, but I'll be honest & say I'm interested in any offers to buy it as is...
Hi Xicarius,
It's almost worth nothing not working. Pocket change. What range where you thinking? I'm not interested, the shipping far exceeds what it's worth.

Hi all,
I have one NAD 304 in non working condition. Schema will be nice if someone can send it to me.
Thanks

I have an NAD 304, it's transformer doenst output any voltage, and it is not the thermal fuse. I think the primary coil is fried. I can not read the voltages in the schematic. Would anyone owning a NAD 304 be so kind as to measure the voltages? They are probably around 35 and 70 AC volts. Then i can look for a replacement transformer.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
