Dead AD1852. Would i kill more?

Last week i tried supplying the analog PS to the chip from a separate Jung regulator. The one at hand was fixed at +5.2v (Vd=5v) which seemed to comply with the datasheet max 0.3v difference between analog and digital supply. I was just lazy to set it to 5v dead.

Yesterday the sound took an obvious turn for the worse, especially in one channel. Eventually it stopped completely and i traced it to the dead DAC chip.

There is a good chance that the two power supplies are even more different briefly at start-up.

Could this be the reason for the early death?

Sound with the second supply was noticeably better. Not sure if because of the separation or simply because of the superiority of Jung to a standard 7805.

Any ideas or suggestions?
