Dc off set and coupling caps

Looks like I've found the tweak to possibly end my quest, its cheap, simple and incredibly effective.
What previously sounded like crashing trays now has timbre and decay, where it sounded closed in and narrow is now wide open.
The tiny "sweet spot" has gone I can sit on a chair rather than the floor!
Its such a dramatic change my 10 year old noticed it straight away.
The mod is simply using the XLR outputs to RCA! thats it, nothing more.
The tweak apparently works by bypassing the Op27 op-amps which are used to combine and buffer the signal for the unbalanced RCA outs. The key is to take V+ from pin 2 GND pin 1 and leave pin 3 unused.
They arrived today with the correct pin arrangement so popped them in.
A grand total of £4.85 incl. shipping!
The system is still quite bright however that also allows individual percussion instruments to be placed even during congested parts of the tracks.
Whilst I'm sure the system could be improved upon I'm all for quitting whilst ahead.
Maybe in time I may want to cool off the treble a little but that would be done at crossover level.
Thank you all for your input and knowledge passed on.
Happy New Year to you all

The original caps aren’t very good, however, I wouldn’t want to just start swapping in/out until I found something either, that’s often how good devices get junked. A way to do that could be to jump the original parts and use something external until you’ve confirmed that things are well. My choice would likely be the Nichicon ES, if using electrolytic parts. Another option could be to use film caps as part of a cable assembly, externally, as part of an interconnect cable, if that wasn’t clear.

Maybe I wasn’t clear, but that’s exactly what I had suggested for jumping the caps, btw.
Thanks Phase I think I've found the solution, see other post.
No swapping or shorting required, which actually a relief
