I want to build 4 GC for use as power amps (removing the input pot) for tweteer and midrange in a tri-amp system.Do you think that I have to add some dc protection just in case of LM3886 faults to protect the drivers?
Thanks

Well, if you have cheap speakers that you are willing to replace if something goes wrong then the answer is no.
If you have expensive, or hard to replace, speakers and want some cheap insurance then the answer is yes!

A relay at output? Won't sound good.
Do yourself a favour. Get hold of some 'blown' speakers and compare them to the sound of a working pair with protection.
You will find that the protected ones don't sound that bad at all!

Not too sure about faults in the chip occouring, and it is turn off/on transient suppressed, but is your active crossover turn on/off transient suppressed? If no then i would recommend dc protection on the tweeters; even if u plan to leave the crossover on 24/7 power cuts etc could get u.
Cheers, Nik
