DC filter for encapsulated SMPS based on AmyAlice design

@ronnieponsones already wrote in your topic. Made one for you and thuanth

Hello all, do you have a kit available now that can have IRM-20-5 Meanwell board mounted? In other words IRM-20-5 board mounted and AmyAlice in 1 pcb kit? My app is 5v usb C out from a 220v line. This is for a digital source (Wiim) thank you and best regards.
Yes a PCB for that but mine does not have USB-C as I use better connectors at the PSU side that don't need to be detachable. I also included the mains fuse on the PCB for safety. It works OK and feeds a video player since its creation.

Thank you. Great job and design thinking. Well without usb c terminal is fine. We still have access to the output for any future improvement? (add on filter) to improve the ripple (200mV) and to make sure voltage does not drop significantly,By the way, metal case is recommended for the kit? Appreciate comments. I’m still blank with internal power circuitry or capability of the Wiim pro/pro plus but I am confident I can go ahead to link ithe kit as is. Again. Great design for this n appreciate yr brilliant efforts

Well, it has usb C so it's fine to use it if you don't intend to modify the wiim case for other connector type. Even then it has auxiliary output pads to connect any kind of connector. As for paralleling another amyalice, it has no such option (and you wouldn't achieve much, rather than get more current output capability). If you require better supply, you should go linear.

Yes I prefer metal casing connected to PE for safety and shielding. I was to the hospital yesterday and may not move a few days but if you like you can have the Gerber files and have boards made at JLCPCB.

Only linear PSUs are better but they are way more expensive and larger. I use the IRM based SMPS for a video player and notice improved picture quality which surprised me. For my audio I use linear PSUs but will test my version with audio when time permits. IRM and AmyAlice together are a lot better than the average wall wart as delivered with stuff.

*the USB-C cable can be connected to the screw connector. It has no use having detachable cables at both sides.

Thanks for your quick reply gentlemen. I prefer a small smps for my Wiim using external dac for digital chain. This way, you can also beat smps competition. I reserve LPs for my dac. By the way I use Aca mini and Pass’ preamp with headphone in the analog signal chain. All runs smps with the filter from diyaudio store

@ronnieponsones if you are asking for the board I designed, I don't sell kit but in the very first post of this thread you can find the Gerber files to make the board you need. It lacks of usb C connector but you can easily adapt a cable for you own specific use.
