I have a Dynakit PAS-3X tube stereo preamp that has leaky power supply caps. The 2 caps are 2000uf/18DC/Type CE 13 BAE
Mouser and Digikey do not have 18 volt caps. Should I use 16 or 25 volt to replace these? Any recommendations/advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Mark

Replace the selenium diode assembly with 1N5400 silicon diodes,
and the capacitors with axial 25V units of around 3300uF to 4700uF.
You can reuse the steel mounting bracket, just don't tighten the
mounting nut too much and dent the new capacitors. You'll also
need a small terminal strip on top of the bracket for some tie points
for the diodes and wiring.
The selenium diodes will be in poor condition, so don't try to reuse them.
Since they are also dangerous, treat them as hazardous waste.

Thank you Rayma
Rayma,
Thank you for the advice. I'll replace the diodes as well!

New diodes are very important. The old selenium rectifier assembly by now is weak and
will lower the filament voltage, when you want to raise it instead. Do treat it as hazardous waste.
You will have over 12.2VDC on each capacitor after replacement, if the AC line is normal.
