Hi fellas!
What do you think about replacing the woofer on an old Mirage Omni S12 subwoofer with the Dayton RSS 315HF woofer? Would it be an "upgrade" over my old Mirage Omni S12 woofer?
TIA!

It might or might not. The system is designed with the original woofer in mind. Amplification, equalization, enclosure size, port tuning etc. are selected and tuned for this particular woofer.
Why not build something from scratch?

Thanks,TBTL!
That was exactly my concern.
I was just wondering if the Dayton woofer would be better than the existing Mirage woofer after reading alot of positive reviews of the Dayton RSS woofer.
Unfortunately, building a sub box from scratch isn't a possibilty at the moment.

They are very good subwoofers, but need a fit case. Just fitting it in the mirage case won't be better. So keep it original or build a dedicated new cabinet fit for the Dayton.
