anyone use or hear the dayton pt2 planar tweeter? they are cheap and incorporate the ribbon design. the response graph is pretty flat, but we all know that doesn't mean everything.

Hi
I have a pair of the ones from Stryke they are the same driver
Here's a clio nearfield measurement plot of one
As you can see they are pretty soft in the high frequencies, and don't go very low. Some people are using them in 2-ways. I think that's a little foolish. They would make a nice cheap line array.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I'm not using them. They're in the basemet gathering dust. I'd hoped for a flatter more extended top end.
Tried them in this test baffle hoping to extend the HF above the B&G planars. But they have almost identical top end roll-off as the RD-75's

The BG RD-75s are absolutely wonderful midrange drivers, but they are soft on top. I cross mine over at 5kHz to Magneplanar ribbons, and the sound is quite nice indeed.

Unfortunately that's exactlly what we discoverd 🙁
Here's a link to the first prototype baffle. It's abit more refined than the simple test baffle.

Where/ how did you get just the Maggie ribbons?
I didn't get just the ribbons. I bought a pair of Tympani IVs years ago. Currently, I'm using the ribbons and the woofer panels, but the mids are out of the picture, superceded by the RD-75s. Yes, they really are great ribbons, just wish they were more supportive of the diy segment.
