Turning a 1940’s era tube radio console into a modern boom box with an active subwoofer as a gift. Fullrange drivers above will have their own enclosure inside/no open baffle like the original. Which of these three would you choose? I’m leaning towards the high sensitivity of the Faital since we’re not talking a lot of available amp power here……30w each left and right with 60 for the sub. The L and R are also actively high passed by the amp at 100hz 6db. We’re talking mostly bluetooth audio here so please consider the baseline input signal degradation……..just quality room filling sound that will last and endure some volume. Thanks for reading.
Haven’t heard the Dayton, AFAIC the TC9 sucks (TH+G8 much better), and teh Faital (i have the 3FE22) is quite decent.

Thanks for the reply. You’re one of a very few who do not like the TC9. The TG is also available and cheaper but on paper, has a little less HF response but appears a little more ragged in the 1k-6k area…..maybe that’s your dislike? From my design, listening will be mostly off axis/non critical listening so I’m not sure I’d benefit from less HF output.Haven’t heard the Dayton, AFAIC the TC9 sucks (TH+G8 much better), and teh Faital (i have the 3FE22) is quite decent.

The high sensitivity of the Faital is still the most attractive deciding factor.
I have used the ps95 in a sealed box. Even though they are only 10watt they do get loud.. In a room. I've also built a battery boombox and I can tell you, you need a lot more spl outdoors. So I would recommend the faital, if they are indeed 91 db/w.
Also the Dayton really need a filter to get they most out of them

No. It has a lack of resolution, ie DDR, that makes them a good TV speaker… they loose a significant amount of information and make everything “bland”.
You have to listen to them for that. No measurement exists.

Hmm, guess I don't understand 'DDR' then since to me it's how low in SPL resolution (inner detail) is maintained.
