Dayton DC160S-4 and SA25 amp

My son has to do a project in school and decided he wanted to build a subwoofer.
we're not looking to bring the house down with this so small size, small power and small budget is the way we choose to go.

After looking around at some parts we decided we would go with the Dayton SA25 25 watts plate amp and the 50 watts 6.5 inch DC160S-4 woofer (33-4K range).

We're opting for a 4th order band pass enclosure, thinking it yields a smaller sized box and lower frequency.

Any thoughts on the parts we chose for this ? There's also the Dayton DCS205-4 8 inch 150 watts driver that we could consider, but we prefer to stick with the 6.5 inch if possible.

We've also been looking at the different software and calculators available to come up with the right enclosure design. I've tried the online calculator at shavano and also ajdesigner and WinISD. They all seem like pretty good solutions, but the only problem is they all come up with different solutions ! Right now i'm biased towards shavano because it actually gives the dimensions (LxWxH) of both sealed and ported enclosures. Which one should I use ?

Needless to say, we haven't built anything like this before so we obviously need to be steered in the right direction.

Thank you !!

should of bought this : http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-484
i have this woofer with that same amp. 1.75 cubes to 28hz. does a very good job. the key is "low listening levels" it accents my tang band w926 perfectly.

dont go sealed with such a small woofer or little power. i have a feeling that woofer will be maxed out very easily. it is made for midrange woofer not "sub"woofer..
not that you can not achieve good results but it will not be easy.

little box; powerful subwoofer; alot of power.
big box; small power.. ie 25 watts,

We haven't bought anything yet so i'm still open at suggestions.

So i'm guessing you've built a ported box for this ?
Do you think the Dayton DCS205-4 would also do a decent job instead of the SD215A-88 ?

I'll try to run the specs at shavano and WinISD and see what they come up with using a ported box.
