Dayton Cabinets used in a "high-end" design??

The new Von-Schweikert Unifield speakers appear to use the Dayton prefab cabinets....nothing wrong with these for DIY'ing but I am sure they plan to sell these for $$$$! Will be very interested to see what the MSRP is as they also appear to use off the shelf drivers.

Anyone, producing speakers commercially will either sub out or have their own in the house cabinet factory. There are only so many looks or appearances that are attractive and reasonably cheap to produce.
Having a flat-black painted and rounded over front baffle and rosewood veneered box is one of them.
They just look similar.
All though from what I know some hi end manufacturers went to China to make cabinets which is a shame for them. Could they be manufactured on the same factory? I doubt it is the case here.

Very clever...

With the size of that cabinet and the effort required for a 3-way using a 6.5" midwoofer with 126cm^2 and 5mm x-max is a complete waste IMHO. At least squeeze an 8" there...

I'm sure it has "fast" bass.

I'm sure the intended market does not know about Dayton pre-fab cabinets. But if you choose shiny drivers and logos, and you can charge whatever the "high-end" audiophile market will bear...
<sigh>
