You should try 24° closer to the equator.
(the sun going down at 18.00 or 18.01 hardly makes the difference, neither does 75 or 80% humidity)
We had a delayed winter, very mild autumny type days - now the weather spirits are kicking a***, viciously unpleasant winds that just goes straight through a pair of jeans, supposedly will build to a crescendo over some days.
lucky you Frank. I've been waiting for snow for a month. Its still over 4 degrees C average on the mountain atm so no hope in the next couple of weeks. Could be a short season.

I realized this the time I had a job as a fork-lift driver in college -- on the 4 pm to midnight shift, sometimes 4pm to 4am -- there was another college guy w me and we'd sit on the loading dock having lunch at 8 pm -- and then noticed the days had passed us by.
