Dave, it's driving me nuts

Hi Dave,
Every time I try to post a reply to a thread, after I've logged in, I get an error message saying "refresh and try again". I refresh and find I've been logged out. I've checked over my IE settings, with no clue as to why this keeps happening.
Help...

Hi Bill,
I use Firefox and Chrome. Both work fine. I have used IE before and it seemed to work okay, but I normally only trust IE for Microsoft Updates.

I'm with Dave, try clearing your cache and cookies for diyaudio.com.

Sorry guys, it's not a cookie problem. I nuke my cookies every time I close IE.

As for IE vs. Firefox, the last time I tried Firefox, I got nothing but grief. I don't believe the FS stuff is any better than the commercial stuff. Try reporting a bug to the FS software folks - if it's anything mundane, they trash you. Not that trying to report a problem to M$ is any better, but I usually have a lot less to report.

As to my original problem, perhaps you should pay less attention to the browser that people use and more to the bugs in the site admin. I belong to a lot of forums, and this is the only one where I have this problem (and according to another post, I am hardly alone).

Bill,

The board is certainly not bug free, and given the size of the code base unlikely to ever be, and Jason is working very hard to squash the worst of them. Our #1 code hack had to retire (due to need for life-saving surgery). Neither is or was paid. I consider it outstanding that it is kept running as smoothly as it is.

With the problems to user ratios that are extant (ie miniscule) the user end has to be considered 1st.

Also under the extreme load that the board database is under, the current server (a big upgrade just some 2 years ago) is creaking. I know that i have occasional issues with time-outs with my primamry browser, that i do not have with my secondary browser. I rarely have to go to my tertiary browser (none of these are IE, M$ abandoned my platform a long time ago).

A new server is imminent. Hang in there, if problems dissappear with the move, then we can say your browser wasn't patient enuff and eliminate the 2nd most likely cause of your problems.
