Again, I performed a A-B-A demo for my wife and we played a song for female voice. Honestly we couldn't find a big improvement at first glance. We then played another instrumental song and found the obvious difference is that the transient response was much faster.
Thank you for your report, but I just wanted to check - it doesn't sound like the test was a proper double-blind ABX, and there might have been some influence (intended or not) from you on your wife.
Would it be possible for you to verify the results by a real double-blind ABX (and maybe even post the ABX results)?

In fact, I performed the test as A-B-A-B... like that and my wife did not know the exact version of A and B. I just told her "try this... and how about this..." in this release test. Your concern is right that if I had input some influence on my wife. I admit I had expressed my good feeling before testing the version Sep-2014 last year. She disagreed that and pointed out the exact problems in that release. That's why I will ask her for auditing in every major movement in my setup and I'll never give any word before the results came out.
Apart from that, I could tell the exact differences between the versions (Aug-2014 & Aug-2015 rt) in my setup and I could somehow change the setting of "digital-filter" in my DAC to make them sound close to each other. But the Aug-2015 rt could capable to sound more superior in transient response and the appearance of micro-dynamic.
And honestly, I believe the current rt version with a fine tuned PC could able to compare with some very high price player or transport. Hope I will have another chance for that kind of battle later.
new version available (15.08-b110555)
Today I saw that Kipeti released a new version yesterday. Unfortunately no information about the changes. See Index of /firmware/build

Bit of an emergency here: At my daughter's new apartment, with a new wifi network, and Daphile won't scan for or therefore connect to her network. I've got "HW switch disabled" and when I hit refresh, there is just a flash of scanning, and then reverts to the HW message.
Does anyone know what might be going on and how to fix it? Leaving town tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

You try the wifi adaptor in a different usb ports?
Or, is it a pci slot adaptor?
What else can you tell us about the system config?
What is hw? Hardware? Where are you switching this function?

Right. Never underestimate the Clever Hans effect.

I've got "HW switch disabled"
networking - How do I fix a "Wireless is disabled by hardware switch" error? - Ask Ubuntu ?
And only one is right.. and that's not you..
You try to explain your claims with collective forum paranoia and you don't have one proof..
First learn to switch off stupid Tapatalk notice..
If there was a contest to determine who is the most mean-spirited member of this site, you surely would be a serious contender.
But there is no such contest, so perhaps you could try to be a bit nicer to people?
Just a suggestion...
Thanks, guys. Turned wifi on (it was off) in BIOS, but the old Dell laptop still didn't work on wifi. Her old setup was via ethernet, and I guess, when I think about it, it was for a reason. It was my old laptop, and I think it never worked via wifi using Daphile. I've ordered an Edimax tiny wifi USB adaptor for her, and will attempt to get it going for her with phone and text coaching.

Daphile and room acoustic correction
Hello,
is there someone in this forum who would be able to implement BruteFir into Daphile? This would be a great extension for all those who would like to add room acoustic filters generated by the corresponding Software ( e.g Acourate)
I have tested many players and up to now, daphile was outperforming all what I have heard (JPlay, J.River, HQ-Player, etc)
Best regards
Sigi

Can you maybe share your test results with us?
Sorry from I`m new for daphile, when use DSD over PCM then MY pioneer U05 DAC,Have no sound?.......sorry my bad english
I think it need a driver to support DOPDoes it really support dsd over pcm (DoP)?

DoP is a regular PCM from the POW of the driver. IMO the driver does not even know about it.
The device needs to detect the DoP header byte in the 3-byte "PCM" samples and switch to the DoP mode. It may require enabling the detection but I doubt it, IMO it should keep detecting continuously.
IF this device supports DoP which I do not know.
