Damping: best adhesive for carpet pad

I'm using double layers of carpet pad as recommended by zaph for walls of speaker enclosure. What is best adhesive and technique for gluing to mdf and then gluing second layer? Thanks. -freeman

Polychloroprene based Contact Adhesives works very well ( Adhesive - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ). They may have various trade names depending on what country you live in. eg. Contact Adhesive | Selleys Australia

For extra support and alignment, the materials can be held in place using a few flat-head nails or tacks.

If you like the easy route, get yourself some spray adhesive. There are many out there so if you live near a hardware store just go ask.

Something like this:
3M 62-4437-4920-5 Super 77 Industrial Multipurpose Spray Adhesive 24oz on eBay!

Exactly. It will be interesting to see if there are water-based options at my local hardware store. I will report back later today.

don't breathe water based either, but they do not adhere as well, in general.
